Angostura Angostura Orange Bitters 100ml
Angostura Orange Bitters is only the second expression since the original bitters hit the market in 1824. Good things come to those who wait, huh? Although only introduced in 2007, Angostura Orange Bitters have become an essential ingredient for bartenders and amateur mixologists alike, especially with the rise and rise of the Old Fashioned and Negroni cocktails in recent times. We also love using it to add a little more depth to a Martini. So, no drinks cabinet should be without a bottle. We've even been known to add a slug into stews and sauces while cooking. But remember, a little dash of this pungent liquid - with its blood orange, cola, woody spices and bitter herb notes - goes a long way. The original Angostura Bitters were invented by Johann Gottlieb Benjamin Siegert, a German surgeon general in Simón Bolívar's army in Venezuela. Based in Angostura, he used local ingredients that remain a well-kept secret to this very day. It will always be an iconic cocktail component, instantly recognisable by its massively oversized label, which was apparently a comedic error when Siegert's sons separately designed a new label and new bottle without consulting each other on size.£10 per 100.00ml
