Founded in 1818 by the original owners Nicolas Francois Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon, Billecart-Salmon are one of the most revered producers in the Champagne region. The house remains family owned and most of the grapes come from a small but prestigious vineyard holding in the Ay region. The blend of the Billecart-Salmon Demi-Sec is identical to that of the Brut Reserve of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier with the dosage being greater. Pale gold in colour with fine, regular and persistent bubbles. The nose is lively with a hint of delicate white flowers, poached pear and aromas of buttered brioche and a full and balanced palate with layers of stone fruit, melon, honey and cream. An appealingly sweet champagne, perfectly balanced between sugar, alcohol and acidity. Ideal when served with patisseries or chocolate cake; it also turns a brioche afternoon snack into a unique experience.£7.99 per 100.00ml
