Cameronbridge 26 Year Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky Special Release 2022
Cameronbridge 26 Year Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky Special Release 2022
Introducing the knight's golden triumph… Every year since 2001, Diageo has unveiled its Special Releases - a limited-edition series of highly collectable and sought-after Scotch whiskies exploring the breadth and depth of their portfolio. What makes them so exciting is Diageo's unparalleled ability to cherry-pick anything from a lost barrel produced at a'ghost'distillery to an experimental expression from a world-renowned brand. These are one-of-a-kind bottlings that are not to be missed… Curated by Diageo's Master Blender, Dr Craig Wilson, the 2022 Special Releases collection is entitled'Legends Untold Chapter 2'. These cask-strength whiskies take inspiration from the mysterious mythological creatures said to inhabit the lands around the distilleries chosen. The bottles were designed by two illustrators, Kevin Tong and Ken Taylor, and might well be the most colourful and vivid yet. Each bottle carries a QR code, providing the owner access to a"multi-sensory experience"of legends and tales from the distilleries, plus innovative cocktail ideas. Fans of Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Scotch of course will find much to love here. Cameronbridge 26 Year Old is probably the most exciting in the Special Release 2022 series, because it's a rare Single Grain Scotch Whisky with over a quarter of a century of age on it. As anyone who has tasted our Port Dundas 17 Year Old will know, we're big fans of this scarcely seen style. This Cameronbridge bottling was inspired by a legend of a brave knight triumphantly returning home from a spirited battle that lasted 26 years. On plunging through the River Ore, he transformed the water into sweet, silken gold and a majestic distillery was born. Matured in refill casks for 26 years, this is a regal dram glistening with fancy tropical fruit laced granola, salted toffee, cinnamon bun, beeswax, runny honey, milk chocolate, butterscotch and oak. Despite its age, there's a peapod freshness to it, and all that unctuous sweetness is kept in check by the warming chilli of that 56.2% ABV. This is a knight to remember! Founded by John Haig in 1824, Cameronbridge is the largest grain whisky distillery in Europe, and possibly the oldest too. Owned by Diageo, this Lowland distillery in Windygates, Fife, is the powerhouse behind Cameron Brig and David Beckham's favourite, Haig Club. You'll probably have also tasted its spirit in Johnnie Walker, J&B, Vat 69, Bell's and many more, or its neutral spirit in Tanqueray's gins. What you're less likely to come across is a well-aged Single Grain Scotch Whisky entirely from this distillery, like this one. So don't miss out.£42.86 per 100.00ml
