Château Bouscassé Madiran 2016 Red Wine
Château Bouscassé Madiran 2016 Red Wine
Château Bouscassé is the original home of Alain Brumont (of Château Montus fame), so the wines he makes here are deeply personal. The Madiran is a blend of Tannat, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, which are picked from vines ranging between 20 and 100 years of age. The grapes are grown on a cliff in the commune of Mamusson-Laguian. This terroir is jokingly called by many the"Pied de Côte de Saint-Émilion", because the Tannat grown there displays similar characteristics to the wines of Bordeaux's legendary Right Bank appellation. The wine demonstrates just how elegant, charming and voluptuous Madiran can be in skilled hands. We love to pair its blackberry flavours with red meat, spicy dishes, paprika-laced Hungarian food and Basque dishes like lamb stews and pintxos.£3.2 per 100.00ml
