Château Brane Cantenac Baron De Brane Margaux 2015 Red Wine
91 points,"2015 was an exceptional vintage in this part of the world, making many second wines a shrewd value purchase. Luckily this doesn't disappoint, although I cannot recommend highly enough that you go for the 2010 at this point, as the 2015 is still extremely young and tight. You can feel a touch of heat on the finish from the alcohol, which is indiscernible in the grand vin, but you can entirely forgive it given its finesse combined with a swirl of cinnamon and a lick of fun."- Decanter Château Brane-Cantenac is one of Margaux's greats. Winemaker Henri Lurton - whose family is winemaking royalty in Bordeaux - creates Baron de Brane as the second wine of the estate. It gives an early glimpse into the beauty of the Grand Vin and comes from the younger plots on the estate, but the exact same care and attention are applied to it. The château has its own weather station, they study satellite images of the vineyards, one-third of the vines are farmed organically and the others are moving that way; this is a real labour of love and attention to detail. 2015 was one of those no-brainer vintages in Bordeaux, because it was so phenomenal. And the Baron de Brane created in that year is a silky and flamboyant melange of red cherry, strawberry cedar, crème de cassis, blackberry, plum crumble, vanilla, bay and wildflowers. An exquisite choice for roasts, tomato-based sauces, classic French cuisine and impressing the neighbours. TheSecond Growth Château Brane-Cantenac has really ramped up its game under Henri Lurton and has now become the winery that other winemakers in the region whisper about.£6 per 100.00ml
