Château Lynch-Bages Grand Vin Pauillac 2015 Red Wine
96 points,"One of the finest Pauillacs of 2015, Lynch-Bages is rich, racy and voluptuous. A rush of dark red and purplish stone fruit, mint, new leather, spice and blood orange give the 2015 a very decidedly exotic character that is impossible to miss. Raspberry jam, mocha, new leather and expressive floral notes appear with time in the glass, rounding things out nicely. Even though the 2015 is quite forward and open at this stage, the wine has plenty of stuffing as well as the underlying structure to support many years of exceptional drinking. This is a stellar showing for Lynch-Bages."- Antonio Galloni's Vinous 96 points,"This vintage was ideal for the rich style that this estate has made its own. This wine is full bodied and ripe with black-currant and dark berry fruits. The tannins fall into the cushioned wine with ease and richness. Of course, the wine should be aged, so wait until 2026."- Wine Enthusiast Pauillac Château Lynch-Bages offers a price to quality ratio that's seriously hard to beat, especially considering that one of the world's most respected wine critic thinks it's none of the Pauillacs of the vintage. Lynch-Bages 2015 is deeply savoury with concentrated cassis, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry, plum, dark chocolate, fig, smoke, coffee, leather, dried flowers and tight cedar. This is built to last, so tuck it in the cellar and try to show restraint! Don't be fooled by Lynch-Bages Cinquième Grand Cru Classé status, as Jancis Robinson notes:"If any Château's positioning in the… 1855 classification highlights just quite how outdated it is then Lynch-Bages… would be the one. Rated a 5th growth in 1855, it has been for the last few decades a definite Super Second."£24.67 per 100.00ml
