Dr H Thanisch Riesling Feinherb 2021 White Wine
Dr H Thanisch Riesling Feinherb 2021 White Wine
When it comes to summer sipping, this Riesling is just what the doctor ordered. We know that medical professionals don't prescribe wine, but there's something so wonderfully invigorating and life-affirming about this German white. It bursts from the glass with green apples, crunchy pears, elderflower, quince, juicy peach, watermelon, grapefruit, gooseberry, garden herbs, sunbeams and joy. Deeply refreshing and cut through with that classic Mosel minerality, it just doesn't get much better than this. Serve with spicy dishes, sunshine, good times and friends. Confusingly, the picturesque town of Bernkastel-Kues has two wineries called Dr. H. Thanisch, because Napoleonic inheritance laws caused estates to be split between family members. This one is Erben Müller-Burggraef and is run by the Bremen-born vintner, Maximilian F.W. Ferger. The name comes from Dr. Hugo Thanisch, who apparently cured the Elector Boemund of Trier from a mystery illness with a glass of golden wine. The legendary vineyard that wine came from was renamed Bernkasteler Doctor in his honour and is now considered one of Germany's finest plots.£2.27 per 100.00ml
