Fragola Fabbri, in that iconic 600-gram jar, are intense strawberries bathed in a rich syrup. These aren't any run-of-the-mill strawberries, they really rock. To quote Spinal Tap,"these go to eleven!"Immersed in syrup, they remain whole and retain their magical fragrance, making them a superior ingredient for decorating cakes, desserts and cocktails. Pop them into cheesecakes, brownies and yoghurt; use them to top a pavlova, pancake, semifreddo, scone or bowl of ice cream; add them to Pimm's; mix them into a Strawberry Daiquiri or Margarita; or simply serve them alongside mature cheese or ricotta. And don't forget to add a little drizzle of that syrup. Gennaro Fabbri took over a grocery store with a wine cellar in Portomaggiore, Emilia-Romagna, in 1905. He began producing and distributing liqueurs under the name Premiata Distilleria Liquori G. Fabbri. Over the years, that has been shortened to simply'Fabbri', but the business has stayed in the family, now being run by the fifth generation. They began making the cherries that would make them famous in 1915, using a recipe from Gennaro's wife Rachele that is still followed to this day.
