And we think this stylish bottle is a thing of beauty, inside and out, even in a miniature 5cl format. Setting the standard for Highland Scotch, The Original 10 Year Old is matured in a mixture of new and seasoned American oak for a decade. What emerges is rich and creamy, with summery nectarine, apricot, lemon and green apple fruit. But there's also spice, coffee-infused crème brûlée, rhubarb and custard sweets and toffee, making it a bit of a go-to for us while watching the sunset on warm evenings. Every inch the classic malt, The Original lives up to its name. Glenmorangie is a distillery that needs little or no introduction, seeing as how it's now a household - if sometimes mispronounced - name. Established in 1843 - although alcohol production may have started as early as 1703 - the folk of Tain have passed their skills down from generation to generation. But amidst all that tradition, they've never stopped innovating and only Prohibition and World War II have briefly stopped their remarkably tall whisky stills from running.
