Valcanzjria (try saying that after a glass or two) is an organic blend of Chardonnay and Carricante, an indigenous variety thought to have been grown on Etna for more than a thousand years. Carricante's acidity is the perfect partner to the richer and more full-bodied Chardonnay, creating a moreish and dry white wine that bristles with exotic fruit, apple, wildflower honey, star anise and almond. This has become our go-to for lightly creamy pasta dishes, seafood, risotto and paella, even though it's not very Italian. Gulfi is one of Sicily's most cherished, award winning and iconic wineries.
