House Of Suntory Toki Blended Japanese Whisky
House Of Suntory Toki Blended Japanese Whisky
In Japanese'toki'means time, and this is certainly a whisky you'd want while away a few hours in the company of. It's also used to express a sense of occasion or the moment. Again, this is extremely fitting as Toki Blended Whisky makes any occasion special and is very much of the moment, taking Japan's whisky-making heritage and creating something as dazzlingly modern and crowd-attracting as Shibuya Crossing. No wonder it featured in whisky expert Ian Buxton's 101 Whiskies To Try Before You Die book. Written in a different way,'toki'could refer to the Japanese Crested Ibis. This elegant, white bird is exceedingly rare and likes to hang around in pine forests. Similarly, Toki Blended Whisky is a rare blend of single malts from Yamazaki and Hakushu and grain whisky from Chita. It's incredibly pale, resembling white wine in a glass, and its elegant thyme, juniper and mint notes could easily recall pine forests. You'll also discover vivid flavours of heather burning on distant moorland, buttered crumpets, apples, peaches, apricots, charred orange, custard creams, tangy grapefruit, honeyed granola, and roasted spices. The House of Suntory is the most highly awarded Japanese whisky producer, so the quality here is a given. Sip it neat, over ice or craft any manner of cocktails with it. Harvey Nichols particularly enjoys this whisky in a highball with plenty of ice, soda, a twist of grapefruit, and a sprig of thyme. Then sit back and enjoy a little Toki time.£5.57 per 100.00ml
