Maraska Maraschino
Maraska Maraschino
The'Maraschino liqueur'originated in the city of Zadar in 16th century, on Croatia's Dalmatian coast. Maraska Maraschino uses this very original Maraschino recipe which was devised by pharmacists of the Dominican monastery and later rediscovered by Francesco Drioli. The original distillery supplied British royalty from Queen Victoria, King George V and the Duke of Edinburgh throughout the 18th and 19th century. After the destruction of Zadar during World War II, Maraska distillery regrew the liqueur's infamy and brought back the region's most famous creation. Deeply set with a tradition in liqueur production, Maraska is a truly quality producer. Maraska Maraschino uses distillates of traditional Dalmatian Marasca cherry grown on the distillery's plantation, to produce a naturally fruity aroma and flavour. It has since been branded as the'king of liqueurs'and rightly so; this original Croatian product encapsulates the history of the region and the distinctive Marasca cherry which is now being brought back to these shores once more.£4 per 100.00ml
