Pago de Valdoneje Mencía comes from Bierzo in Galicia. This is a stubborn and difficult place to tend vineyards. So, the wines are all a labour of love. Full of energy, bright red fruit and buzzy aromatics, it feels like Spain's answer to a hypothetical cross between Beaujolais and New World Pinot Noir. We love this unoaked red because it offers something a little different from the ubiquitous Tempranillo that Spain is so famous for.
