Savoia Americano is another exquisite creation from Giuseppe Gallo, the genius behind Italicus and the world's foremost expert on Italian spirits, bitters and liqueurs. This unique spirit bridges the gap between Italian bitter liqueurs (like Campari and Aperol) and classic rosso vermouths. So, it is sure to appeal to Negroni and aperitivo fans. Inspired by a recipe for'Bitter di Milano'from the late-1800s, it was crafted in Turin using an oak-aged, demi-sec Marsala Fino that was aged in oak barrels for 14 months, Trebbiano wine and twenty predominantly Italian botanicals, including artemisia, rhubarb, gentian root, star anise, mandarin, bitter orange peel, cardamom, cinnamon, pink grapefruit, bergamot, aloe, ginger, cassia wood, cascarilla and more. The result is a versatile spirit with a punchy nose of zesty orange, tart grapefruit, woody rosemary and nostalgic fizzy pop (think cherryade, cream soda and chinotto). It tastes like a blend of red summer fruits, tangy citrus, rosemary, roasted hazelnuts, medicinal bitterness and sweet vanilla. Savoia Americano Rosso Amaro Dolce is a fiercely Italian product. It was named after the Italian royal family, the Royal House of Savoia, and filled into a bottle designed to mimic the dome of the Mole Antonelliana, Turin's most iconic building. So, as you can imagine, no aperitivo should be without a bottle. Use it to create a simple Negroni (one part gin and two parts Savoia Americano poured over ice and garnished with a slice of orange), a summery spritz (equal proportions of Savoia Americano and Prosecco finished with a wheel of grapefruit), our favourite aperitivo (over ice topped with soda and a couple of fresh grapes), or as a base for any number of bittersweet cocktails.£5.6 per 100.00ml
