""Hope makes a good breakfast. Eat plenty of it."- From Russia with Love by Ian Fleming This legendary jam is Tiptree's most famous. As featured in Ian Fleming's From Russia with Love, it's thought to be James Bond's favourite conserve. But it's actually from Essex with love and we hope you'll enjoy it with a breakfast of freshly baked bread, crumpets, croissants or scones. Wilkin&Sons are thought to be the only commercial grower of the tiddly, rare and intensely sweet Little Scarlet strawberry - the variety from which this incredible jam is made. Therefore, you will find no strawberry jam on Earth quite like it. The Wilkin family started fruit farming in the Essex village of Tiptree in 1865. To prevent the produce from spoiling on long journeys, they started turning it into jam in 1885. Wilkin&Sons Limited began to expand from just making'conserve'using homegrown fruit, to also crafting'preserve'using imported fruit. Now, Wilkin&Sons and the Tiptree jams created at their Trewlands factory are world famous. Keenly aware of the impact of the climate emergency, Tiptree has also become a market leader environmentally, reducing their chemical use by 80% and plastic in their packaging, planting thousands of non-fruit trees and hedgerows, and even becoming a Demonstration Farm for LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming).
