Vincent Girardin Terroir Noble Bourgogne Rouge 2019 Red Wine
Terroir Noble is so much more than just a run-of-the-mill Bourgogne Rouge. That label simply belies the fact that this red is made exclusively using grapes from old vines around Volnay and Pommard. Fresh and precise, it's an elegant Pinot Noir with crunchy raspberry, ripe strawberry, cherry, forest floor, oak and the silkiest texture. A thirst-quenching wine for the summer months, offering almost unparalleled value for money. Vincent Girardin was born in Santenay and is the eleventh generation of his family to make wine in the region, so he knows a thing or two about creating great Burgundy. In 2012, he sold his business to Jean-Pierre Nié, President of the Compagnie des Vins d'Autrefois in Beaune. Luckily, Jean-Pierre kept winemaker Eric Germain on, so the wines have remained wonderful. In fact, we actually think they might have improved a bit, because Eric has been given a little more freedom to express himself.£3.47 per 100.00ml
